Trained across two countries and licensed to practice in two states, Dr. Alex Akuagwu has built a quarter-century career around the kind of broad clinical agility a freestanding emergency room demands.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Benin Faculty of Medicine in Nigeria, completed his family medicine residency at Texas Tech University in Amarillo, and is board-certified in family medicine.
His work in the emergency setting covers the full sweep of acute presentations, from sudden infections and respiratory complaints to traumatic injuries. He carries active medical licenses in both Texas and New Mexico and treats patients at our Mesquite Cartwright location.

For more than 35 years, Dr. Sesan Ogunleye has practiced emergency and family medicine across North Texas, and previously served as Medical Director of a freestanding emergency facility in Mesquite.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in 1986 and completed his family practice residency in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Board-certified in family medicine, his ER work focuses on the rapid stabilization of acutely ill adults and the careful evaluation of pediatric emergencies, with particular attention to the complex medication histories that older patients often bring with them. He continues to treat patients at our Mesquite Cartwright location.

Dr. Syed Naqvi earned his medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, completed his family medicine residency at New York Medical College, and pursued fellowship training in emergency medicine at the University of Tennessee and in undersea and hyperbaric medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
He previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah and practices full-time emergency medicine in the Dallas metro area. He treats patients at our Mesquite Cartwright location.

Dr. Talal Zahoor has built his career across two parallel tracks: bedside emergency medicine and the operational side of running emergency and urgent care facilities.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Queensland Medical School in 2014 and has since practiced as both an emergency medicine physician and a hospitalist, with peer-reviewed publications spanning surgical, internal medicine, and emergency topics.
His work as a healthcare entrepreneur has focused on expanding access to community-based emergency and urgent care. He treats patients across all of our North Texas locations.
